All time riding in Elkfrod

New snow and wind = increasing avalanche danger! With all the new snow we chose a trip plan that minimised our exposure to steep slopes so we could gather information about how the new snow was behaving as we travelled. At treeline the 30 cm of new snow was starting to get blown around by a NW moderate to strong wind but the wind loaded slope that we skied showed no signs of instability (cracking whumpfing etc). The riding was all time in sheltered spots!
