Rock Hard

An early start today made for some rock hard conditions. Travel was easy unless you tried to go up something really steep and then your track would spin out in the icy conditions. Track penetration was pretty much zero. There was a light dusting of snow overnight which in some isolated spots had blown into 10cm deep pockets but not enough to make for good riding. It was sunny and clear and cold though, so at least the views were great. The snow may have softened up a little in the late afternoon but we had already left the mountain by then. No avalanche activity with everything frozen up so tight!
