The avalanche was triggered on the flats above the first bench, well above the rider in what appears to be a relatively save location. This clearly shows how tricky the avalanche conditions are right now.
Early season snow which grew weak and sugary is the culprit in this avalanche.
Ted performed a compression test on the flank of the slide and this column popped out to the ground after only four taps from the wrist.
