Great Times at Tommy

Today, we filmed in the new Tommy Creek riding area in McBride now that it's open 7 days a week. It was a gorgeous sunny day with only light southerly winds. It hasn't snowed in a while but that didn't matter, there was more than enough terrain to find lots of untouched snow. We rode in Tommy 1 all day and never even made it to Tommy 2 or 3. It was fun to explore the expansive alpine terrain while hazard is at MLL. Sheltered alpine/treeline bowls held great snow but we stayed away from any ridge tops where it appeared that recent winds had left hard slabs behind. Or profile at the top of treeline showed that while the snowpack is becoming sugary, it is stable in areas away the effects of full sun or wind. What an awesome day! We can't wait to get back out to Tommy.
