>30kmh SW wind transporting new/recent storm snow, loading leeward features. Earlier in the morning we observed some 'wrong side up' surface snow from the overnight storm at 1300-1450m on a W/SW aspect. Avoided lee features steeper than 30 degrees and skied windward SW aspect from treeline and below. Did not observe whumpfing or shooting cracks, but loaded lee slopes at treeline had blocky reactions up to 15 cm in quick hand shear tests and cutting above the skin track.
Snow conditions were: Crusty, Powder. Weather conditions were: Stormy. We rode: Open trees. We avoided: Alpine slopes, Convex slopes. Riding quality was good.
Avalache Conditions: 30cm + of new snow, or significant drifitng, or rain in the last 48 hours.
