A breakable wind crust on top of the new snow from this week. It was easy to break through and did not effect riding. We found great snow in trees and below 1200m. Observed some wind affected snow on the alpine so opted to stay lower. A bit of whumpfing on our initial skin up, mostly around trees and areas that would have experienced a bit more wind loading.
Snow conditions were: Powder. Weather conditions were: Warm. We rode: Mellow slopes, Open trees. We avoided: Alpine slopes. Riding quality was amazing.
Avalache Conditions: Whumpfing or drum-like sounds or shooting cracks.
We had no result during our compression test. Did experience a bit of whumpfing on our initial skin up.
