Witnessed one skier controlled small size 2 avalanche on a NE aspect around 2070m and appeared to be triggered on a wind slab while riding into the run. Also saw debris from one Size 2 avalanche that released off of a north facing steep rocky feature on Chief Pascal that started around 2100m.
Broken clouds throughout the day with moments of sun poking out later in the day. -1 degrees measured at 1900m at 12:30pm. Southern winds observed and experienced along the Mt Chief Pascal NW ridge.
Total snowpack depth of 175cm at 1900m on a sparse treeline north facing slope. 25cm of new snow overlies 4F hardness snow. A mix of broken and planar compression test moderate results down 35cm and 50cm with no observable surface hoar found. Overall, a well settled 1F snowpack below with the November crust down 120cm.
