We skied Cougar East linking the most conservative, supported terrain features. We dug a profile at 1950m and had a sudden moderate result down 50cm, but there wasn’t much slab cohesion in the snow and we had no signs of instability.
Lower down after crossing the bench to the far skier’s left at 1550m it got spicier, but not in the good hot sauce way. Lots of whumphing, pillows cracking and we remote triggered a size 1 slab in a gully feature. No jalapeño sweat though - we were in a supported feature between the gullies that may not have been the best skiing but kept us out of trouble. We rejoined the gully feature when the angle lessened to get some much needed Instagram footage.
