Type

quick

Coordinates

59.701560, -135.078400

Quick Observation

Widespread wind effect evident. At lower elevations touchy windslabs are developing over facets. Upper snowpack mainly faceting. We did maintenance on the weather stations and observing avalanche activity following the last storm cycle. We travelled at and below tree line and observed many whumpfs and shooting cracks of up to 20m. All in small, windloaded features. Numerous avalanches visible (details in Av. section). The old bed surface from the Fraser avalanches at the weekend is reloading in the wind.

Avalanche Information

Several natural windslab avalanches on reverse loaded (south facing) alpine and treeline terrain. Largely size 1, up to 1.5.

Weather

Cold day, warmed slightly. Early winds at ridgeline from SouthEast transporting snow. As the morning progressed winds appeared to be largely from the North, and light.
