Quick Observation
A very quiet day on Christmas Couloir. Light-moderate winds, and light snowfall with reduced visibility at times while travelling to Balu pass. Signs of slight wind loading were present starting at around 1850m, on eastern aspects. Upon dropping into the cougar drainage, 15-30cm of low density snow was present with a ski pen of 10-30cm. Light winds in the cougar valley, and snowing moderately at times. There was little evidence of wind effect with the new snow especially in the couloir. The 15-30cm of density snow sat on some moist snow in the couloir (possible sun effect from last few days?). The skiing overall was excellent and no signs of instability observed throughout the day. No new avalanches observed.
