We skied steep north facing trees (35-40 degrees) from 4800' to 7200'. No whumpfing or cracking was observed. We were in the inversion fog to about 5300'. There is a large amount of surface hoar and near surface facets (6'+ thick in areas) at basically all elevations on the north facing slopes (potential weak layer with next weeks snow). There was a band of denser snow around 7000' that was most likely heat affected from last week. The skiing was mid boot deep facets (loud powder) and quite enjoyable.Coverage is thin below 5300'.
