Snowfall on 171112 allowed us to access alpine today. 0 degrees and light rain at valley bottom. 1950 m snowpack of 105cms. Strong gusting sw winds with significant transport. widespread 5cm thick crust down 38cms (nov11). Multiple failures on top of this crust on small facets. ctm1 along with repeatable moderate etc's. Concerning results with the ects. will keep an eye on this layer with the developing slab. Lower pack consisting of small facets with another crust 20cms up. Riding was pretty nasty with the low snowpack and numerous natural hazards.
