Monarch North

Walking around in the north aspect of monarch, “alpine like” slopes that were planar and supportive to ski travel had a very spooky slab on facets structure, that was easy to trigger with shooting cracks, and made for very tricky travel. In places with unsupportive surfaces (sinking in) snow was deep and unconsolidated to ground. Snow was 60-90cm deep above 1100m, the day was warm -2. We need some more snow!
