Weekend at Heros

As good as a weekend you could get in K country, skiing heros Friday and Sunday. 40 cm storm snow that was slowly getting more consolidated by 2 pm on Sunday. Wind picking up as we left with some smoke stacks over high elevation. North facing shots held great pow all day. South facing crusty and getting re freeze. Felt pretty cold in valleys till 2 pm Notably original goal was black prince col link up but could not confirm if it had slid (it hasn’t..) so bailed and just did heros. Suspect it would have been a long walk to pull the pin at the col - black prince col N face: no sign of slide from the top. Looks pretty loaded and convex. New slide from the steep face that was not present on Friday - purple knob N Face: no sign of slide but up-track on both south and north face. Looks like skied yesterday. - heros approach: getting icy in the treed switch back. One new steep slide from yesterday - heros/Sweet 16: needs a refresh again. Lots of tracks
