Back to back days in and around Mongolia. Dug pits on NW aspects around 1900m that we planned on descending. Pretty consistent results with ECT and CT tests that other groups we talked to were having as well.
Noticed some old sluffing below the head walls and some old light debris under mammoths head.
HS 90cm with 15-20cm of unconsolidated light powder on hard December rain crust, that seems to be bonding decently to the crust and doesn’t have any slabby characteristics. Results on CT18 down below the crust where small 1.5-2mm facets had formed. Resistant planer / broken failure, Resistant shear properties.
