Quick pit below ridge line of Evening Ridge on a steeper clearing between trees. HS = 125 cm, 40degree slope, SE aspect. Light S/SE winds at ridge top, mostly calm in trees. 35 cm of Fist snow (recent/fresh stuff) on top of a 1F soft slab about 25 cm thick overlays 65 cm of basal/rotten 4F junk. Extended column test yielded medium results and sudden collapse on the basal junk. ECTM (17) down 80 cm. Upper 35 cm skied well, steeper 35 degree pockets failed to produce any momentum/sloughing. No perceivable wind effect throughout Southern aspect. Temps remained -8 to -9 degrees from car to ridgetop, very nice day. Overcast skies throughout with low cloud/fog at ridgetop throughout.
