Elkford delivered today with 20 - 25 cm low-density snow blanketing the terrain from truck to ridge top. We were expecting wind slabs but only observed small dry loose avalanche activity in steep terrain. There was a very thin temperature crust up to the Alpine under the most recent snow from last week's warming that was not affecting the skiing or sledding, even on steep south-facing slopes. The snowpack at 2300 m NE facing slope had 220 cm total snow depth. The mid-pack is well settled. The early December crust is down 125 cm with a facet layer above. This layer is also gaining some strength but we continue to be wary of steep, rocky terrain. We had no test results.
