Quick Observation

Explored some new terrain around Silver Mines and found around 25 cm cm of fresh powder over a crust. We saw several new wind slab avalanches up to size 3 and dry loose avalanches to size 2, likely occurring overnight Mon-Tues with many failing below large cornices. Through the day we felt intermittent, but gusty northwest winds and observed snow blowing at ridge top. With recent avalanches and ongoing wind-loading, we avoided steep slopes and anything with a cornice. Surface snow turned moist on sunny slopes upwards of 1700m by the afternoon.
