First photo taken from ridge above Angle Parking looking into head of Little Simpson Gulch. No recent avalanches visible, but a lot of transport into the steeper NE-SE aspects. Very wind scoured above 1550m. Below 1400 m soft and ski penetration was 20-30cm. Below 1350m snowpack is much shallower and more early season hazards visible as seen in second photo.
Most of the recent storm snow had already been transported to NE/E slopes below treeline. Skin tracks from yesterday below treeline were filled in on open area, but not in sheltered areas. Starting to lightly snow and wind was picking up W/SW by 2;30PM.
Probed depth at 1370m as buried hazards becoming more visible around Icefall Traverse. 30-40 cm of loose from storm and transport below treeline, with no indication of buried rain or wind crusts at this elevation in the recent storm snow. Trees all loaded up at this elevation on the NE to E aspects.
