Spent the weekend on the Columbia icefields. Setup high camp near Kitchener Saturday at 3150m. Travel through the bypass was excellent. Saturday was busy with dozens out & about on various objectives. Sunday started off great, bulletproof freeze @ -12 & clear skis. Unfortunately, clouds moved in as we neared N Twin, which impeded melting of the newly formed breakable crust. Given the rapidly deteriorated ski quality we packed up camp & headed out as a small system rolled in- rain at 2900m. Difficult to ski through the serac debris enroute out & extraordinarily isothermal snow below. Had to skate the entire tongue out at 3pm.
