Went into Canyon Creek via Christmas shoot on Ozone. First skier of our group remote triggered a cornice failure over Toilet Bowl by skiing a little to close to a previously opend gap in the cornice that was hidden/covered again by recent snowfall. The crack propagated about 10m to break off maybe 6-8 meters of the cornice at the north end of it. By the late afternoon a new hole had opened up. The debris did not slide very far and was sitting at the start of the choke.
Found a few very small windloaded pockets that had showed shooting cracks of max 1m on ridges in windy areas while going uphill. Did not notice any other concerns.
Canyon Creek was skiing great with a little crust noticable on the way up. Sun was shining most of the day with short cloudy periods. Did not notice the crust on the way down but the snow got heavy and sticky below 2100m. Only windy near and on ridge tops with temperatures reaching a high of about -5C in the sun with no wind. Today felt like some good ol' spring skiing.
