Good road access and a deep snowpack. The day warmed as the sun was full on, south aspect terrain became moist with widespread small wet loose avalanches initiating around rocky features.
The north aspects stayed cool and dry with an ample supply of powder. Ongoing strong south winds continued to transport the snow and we suspect new small wind slabs are forming just below ridge tops.
During our riding, we tested numerous small slopes with no cracking or signs of instability. Cornices are ever looming and we gave them ample room and picked strategic locations for regroups and lunch breaks.
Overall was a great day to get Haslered.
