We skied down the S/SW facing slope /ridge of baldy rocks. No avalanche activity spotted there. Due to the fog vision was very limited to the slop we were skiing.
The new snow fallen in the night was between 4 and 8cm high and not bonded (observed between 1960 and 2100 m MSL). It was lying on a crust, which varied in thickness between <5mm and around 7cm at an exposed spot at 2100 m MSL. Approx. 10cm under that rain crust was a second crust, which had a thin (<5mm) wheak layer above or beneath, that collapsed during a compression test. The snow fall during the day (10:00 to 16:00) was approx. 2-4 cm.
