Quick Observation

Stayed away from south aspect of brooks instead opting for the East face

Avalanche Information

Numerous loose dry avalanches set off on steeper terrain. A few picked up quite a bit of snow and ran until the terrain mellowed.

Weather

Wind was light in the AM at ravens Lodge and we didn't feel much of any where we were the rest of the day.

Snowpack

ECTN 19 on storm snow layer. Faceted PWL sitting at 105cm. We spanked the shovel a lot and could not get a result on the PWL. When we put the shovel in behind and pried, the entire column popped at the PWL. 5-10cm of surface hoar/new snow at Ravens Lodge parking lot at 8am. At 1400m that surface layer was closer to 20cm deep. Snow quality was variable. Between 1400 and 1200 the turns were great, below that there was some gnarly crusties below the new snow. Numerous size 1 loose drys set off in steeper terrain (>40 degrees)
