Skied up to Poccaterra Ridge today. Wanted to see how it compares to the Icefields Parkway. Weather was great, lots of sun, about -4 and no wind.
We rode SE and SW facing slopes. Snow was in good shape, a breakable crust on the surface with a supportive base underneath. Great skiing for November.
Snow depths measured ~60cm on the SE facing slope and -50cm on the SW facing slope.
Skin track is more of a luge track at points so beware and be prepared to work around some crappy spots.
There are still some lingering rocks when you’re on the ridge and the skin track is full of roots and rocks.
