Moderate northerly winds are creating 30-40cm deep soft slabs on lee slopes. Visible snow transport. Previous days alpine skin and ski tracks across the Dome and North Bowl were blown in. Cracking was found on small lee slopes but not propagating or producing anything. Ski pen 30cm through low (fist) resistant powder.
Skiing on protected alpine slopes was very good. Lower down on treeline exposed slopes (Powder 8’s shoulder) snow was wind affected but still very skiable. Lower slopes on 3rd Knowl Ramp was wind affected with thick thigh deep pockets and small cornices along the gully wall. Upper hill skied very well with little care needed until about 850m. Snow suface becoming moist about 1000m. Skied with care to near the upper parking lot.
