A Work of Snart

We started the day off trying to go up Beaver Creek but the amount of deadfall over the access trail made us turn around and go to Bijoux instead. Our main goal was to find the surface hoar layer that was buried two weeks ago and see if it was a potential problem in the area. We found it in a couple of sheltered spots buried around 50cm deep, and it was reactive in out tests (ECTP x2 at 19 and 22 taps, down 45 and 55). As this layer is so spotty and difficult to find we feel the likelihood of triggering it is quite low. The crust however, which is thickest in the alpine, is just perfect for creating your very own work of snart (snow art).
