Quick Observation
Climbed up to ~2500m. On the ascent we noted some areas of minor wind-pressed surface snow on lower slopes, and hard, unreactive wind slabs on the windward (NW) side of the ridge, with the most exposed areas scrubbed to ground. After dropping below the ridge, ski quality was good, with no instabilities noted on the descent. Observed sluffing from other skiers in steep terrain, however no wider propagation or slabs noted in those areas. No evidence of recent natural avalanche activity. Morning sun warmed sheltered areas with a few trees shedding snow as we ascended, but cold gusty winds prevented widespread melting and clouds shadowed the west side of the valley by noon.
