Toured up Eldorado Creek trail to a subpeak on the south side of the valley. Snow coverage was good through the access trail, though with a 1" crust that softened with +2C temperatures in the afternoon. The pack was supportive, making for easy travel.
Above treeline, snow depth was extremely variable, with significant wind loading on some features, and stripped bare on others. Wind hammered on all aspects we saw. Rain crust up to 1600m- everything above treeline was bulletproof.
Whumpfing on low angle terrain- we think it was the upper, consolidated pack settling on faceted base.
Stayed off steep slopes and cross-loaded features.
Day was mostly cloudy, -3 at the base on the morning, -1 in the alpine in the afternoon.
