Quick Observation

Thin and weak snowpack on a West aspect we climbed. Recent snow was poorly bonded to the old surface (harder, wind pressed snow). Shallow, HS ~ 90-130 cm, and a faceted lower snowpack. Scurried away as quickly as we could. Found good skiing on N-E aspects. Southerly aspects now have a 2-3 cm breakable sun crust and very poor skiing.

Snowpack

Estimated depths. Didn’t observe crystal types. CTV x2 down ~ 30 cm. CTH down ~ 50 cm below an older wind slab. Looked to be facets below.
