Quick report

Spotted a fresh avalanche from the highway on my way to ski. I covered a lot of ground and did not see other avalanches like this one.

Likely occurred overnight Wednesday into Thursday (1/8 into 1/9). First observed morning of 1/9. Looks like it had a preference for the sunny wall of the couloir, which tilts E and even to ESE...I'd guess the radiation recrystallization (RadRx) crust formed 1/2 could be the culprit, with the slab generated by 1/8 winds. Hard to have much certainty without going up there. Crown roughly 1 foot or less thick, in one spot you can see two layers to the crown.
