Quick report
We toured E and ENE aspect terrain this morning on Andesite Peak. Overnight refreeze was moderate strength on open slopes with the top 4 inches a P- hardness. The refreeze was weak to non-existent under thick forest canopy. A little before 10 am we began to encounter some areas that were losing supportability, mainly mid slope and below on open E aspect terrain as well as near areas where cliff bands were not visible but buried only a few feet below the snow surface. Shallow wet loose sluffs were fairly easy to trigger with ski cuts just before 10 am on sunny slopes around 8,000'.
