Quick report
We toured up the north side of Donner Peak starting at the Summit Haus with an AIARE 1 course. We aimed to track the faceted snow on the north and how it was holding up under the new storm snow from the past 2 days. We dug a pit 100 cm deep and found the faceted layer on both sides of a crust approx. 80 cm down, with the crust at 87-89 cm. We performed 2 Compression tests. The first had no results and on the second we had a failure. CT26 @ 80 on the facets above the crust layer.
