Quick report
Traveled on SE slopes on Jake’s today, between 6700’ and 9100’. On the whole, these slopes had gone through multiple melt-freeze cycles. A strong inversion was in place again, so the refreeze from about 8000’ down was excellent, and both uphill and downhill travel were fully supportable, pseudo-corn conditions. Above this, the refreeze was weak to non-existent. On the uphill, ski pen was 5-10 cm, and on the downhill, there were several inches of wet surface snow already at 1040 am. We pushed numerous large pinwheels and even one small wet-loose in a steep rocky area, but the skiing was still quite enjoyable. On the lower elevation, lower angle apron, there was only a few cm of wet, large grained snow on a supportable base.
