Quick report
Softer snow surfaces were becoming consolidated from a SW wind in even the most sheltered places creating a 2-5 inch breakable crust. I did not see any collapsing or propagation but I imagine a wind slab is on the menu somewhere in the forecast range. Steeper slopes were sloughing cold dry snow. Warming was not present on open northerly slopes as of noon. I was surprised to see wind texture on the northerly slopes from the parking lot this morning having spent this storm cycle in the norther part of the forecast range. Yesterday there weren’t any significant trace of wind on northern aspects in the mount rose area. Winds were coming from the SW and stronger than expected and a noteworthy amount of snow was being transported. Easy travel from the road heading south, for now.
