Strong winds from the south were transporting snow quickly into north facing aspects. Evidence of wind slabs building on ridge tops but not evident elsewhere. Ridges were scoured down to the rain crust, which was evident up to 8,000’. Sheltered north aspects had 30-45cm of snow from the storm/wind transport. HS was 180cm on a north at 8,000’. Experienced one isolated collapse at around 7,800’ in a depression/pot lake on a north aspect where I assume some surface hoar had been preserved. Skied in some steeper, protected north-facing terrain (7k-8k elevation band) and dry loose/sluffing was minimal/nonexistent. Snow felt “thick” with an upside-down feeling in spots.
