Overcast day with light snow and moderate SE winds transporting snow now at ridge level.
Avalanche
We observed two events on the east aspect during the descent to Snow Lake. One skier triggered a small D1 slab avalanche in recent wind-loaded snow. In a separate incident on the same east aspect, a skier fell and triggered a slab above them that detached and collapsed with a audible whumph. Although this second slab did not slide, we were able to clearly observe the crown, flank, and stauchwall.
