Quick report
We traveled to approx 4,700 ft on a generally SE aspect of Dirtyface Peak. Travel conditions were difficult at times due to generally sticky heavy snow and low coverage on the summer trail below the waterfall. We dug a hasty pit to the ground to look at layers at 4,300 ft and found HS 135cm with a grainy layer around 75cm but no appreciable firm crust. All seemed generally well bonded with quick hand and shovel tests. Sunny conditions were found above the fog/cloud layer which sat around 4K. Many robust rollerballs observed in the sun and we were also dodging stout tree bombs below and above the clouds. Ski quality was surprisingly good between 4,700 & ~4,000 ft then became sticky again. Low coverage and a large amount of new blowdowns made skiing lower down somewhat heads up to avoid holes & vegetation.
