Quick report
6-8" of fresh up above Lichtenwasser over a stout crust. Mostly cold and unconsolidated, though there was a slight solar effect in the basin above Lichtenwasser. It was clear and sunny for a solid few hours in the late morning/early afternoon that I'm sure had an effect on solar aspects. We didn't climb the last few hundred feet to the summit and didn't see any evidence of a slab in the new snow, though cornices on the ridge were small and an intrepid group of snowshoers easily punched there way through to the top. Smith Brook crossing was very open but very manageable. Skiing in the trees was lumpy with variable amounts of fresh. Skiing above Lichtenwasser had enough fresh to be quite fun.
