Quick report

While out touring around Cascade Pass, Sahale, and Hidden Lake over the past few days we observed generally stable avalanche conditions. There is widespread evidence of the AR event from early April with numerous large to very large wet slab and glide slab debris piles. Pockets of trenchy isothermic snow were encountered frequently after noon on all aspects below 6000’. Above that, shaded northerlies held either bulletproof or breakable crusts while southerlies were corn-topped and supportable. We triggered a couple of small surface wet loose in steep W terrain midday on Wednesday. The wide range of variable surfaces kept us on our toes while skiing and heads up about exposure while in steep terrain.
