Quick report

Widespread non-supportive crust 0.5” to 0.75” thick was present on all snow surfaces, starting around 5200’ and continuing until at least 6000’ (where we turned around), including sheltered areas under trees. Did not investigate lower layers of the snowpack but was able to plunge an inverted pole in 24-36”through soft snow below the crust. Will be interesting to see how this evolves with this coming week’s precipitation.
