Quick report

I snowshoed up Lyman Hill today (2/16). I am not knowledgeable about avalanches, but I think what I saw could be useful. Starting around 3300 ft I started seeing pinwheels ranging from baseball to basketball sized which had come down the steep embankment of the road. I saw only one steep and open slope all day around 4000-4100 ft and there had been a small/medium sized avalanche. The crown was maybe 1.5 feet deep and it looked like it had just happened today or maybe late yesterday. Above 4k feet I traveled very carefully and in the trees, but I still sent some decent sized pinwheels rolling.
