Cracking
isolated

8-10 inches of fresh snow at the top. Whoomphing 7.5k elevation and above. Best guess is the snow from one week ago is the weak layer, on top of the very firm slab from the warmup. Isolated steep slopes seemed prone to cracking the level of the new snow.

Remotely triggered from about 50 feet away. Looked to be some combination of wind slab/cornice. Did not propagate, but we had been hearing whoomphing from maybe 7.5k elevation up.
