Snow at the pole creek parking was about 8-10 inches in the morning. Breaking trail the storm snow was very light and unconsolidated. As we approached the summit of Silver lots of wind transport was apparent with scouring on ridges and signs of loading across the east bowl. Hand pits indicated that wind slabs had clearly developed and were up to 2+ ft deep on the cross loaded SE aspect of the bowl. Several rider triggered D1 dry loose avalanches were observed on steep terrain and convex rolls in sheltered train BTL. Storm snow varied in height from as little as 3 inches in densely treed areas to up to on north facing aspects.
