Snowpack

Little slab quality in the storm snow below 8000 feet elevation. We began to feel wind slabs on ridges between 8000 and 8100 feet. These slabs were fist to four finger hardness, 6-10 inches thick, and isolated to lee of ridges. These slabs were not reactive to ski cuts or on isolation. We observed 2mm beat up facets down 20-25 cm at the old snow/ storm snow interface in sheltered areas, but these locations lacked enough of a cohesive storm or wind slab to produce any results in hand pits.
