Quick report

On upper part of P. Ridge. Above tree-line. Sunny day, warm, no wind, fresh snow (about 6 inches) from previous night and days. No stability tests performed. My party of two stopped climbing about 500 below and to the northeast of Avalanche and skied down from there. South side of ridge was a fairly hard, wind packed surface with little cover. More powder toward northeast slopes. Great ski conditions heading down on Ridge favoring north slope.

Avalanche

Did not see avalanche occur. Observed evidence estimate within hour after occurrence, near top of south bowl (Bowl just south of Phat Ridge), up from SCS in Northern Wallowas. Occurred Feb 10 around 11:00 am. It appeared to be skier triggered. Spoke to person in party involved. Skier escaped unharmed. Somewhat Steep slope (guessing to be greater than 30 deg).
