Windslabs were highly visible, but seem to be decreasing in reactivity (compared to reports of collapsing and active windloading last weekend). Around 7100', on small test slope convexities without consequence below, I was unable to trigger any slabs.
The best riding quality today was in wind-sheltered areas below treeline but above 6400', roughly where the freezing level was and surface snow turned stickier below that.
Windslabs were easy to find on E and NE aspects near and above treeline. As they were F+ to 4F+, they were not stiff enough to give shooting cracks while breaking trail, but undercut skintrack corners would crack off a slab consistently.Weather

Despite the potential for much warmer temps, the cloud cover was closer to Overcast than Broken from around 10:30 onwards and with windchill, the temps felt cool. The moderate S winds did produce swirls of snow, but there was little to no snow available for transport, so no further windslab development.
Snowpack
Textured surface snow, stripped bare windward slopes and hollow-sounding supportive slabs were all indications of windslabs. I was not able to find any thicker than 6" or so, and most were about 4" or 10cm. Handshears were an appropriate moving test to see where they were and their thickness.
At SE 6750', I found 115cm of snow and my layer of concern was the Thanksgiving Drought Layer (facets) resting above the Nov 22nd crust. The Thanksgiving Drought Layer produced a sudden collapse result (CTH21 SC dn 49) but did not fail in an ECT. The layer of concern was 1mm rounding facets.
The average height of snow at 7400' NE was 120-150cm and a test profile in that location produced a similar result on the same thin gray stripe of facets (CTH22 SC dn 35).
At NE 8000', on a somewhat wind-loaded slope, the height of snow was 215cm and the Thanksgiving Drought Layer was down 90cm (ECTX).
Avalanche
None observed despite good visibility towards the core of the range.
