2”-8” H24, good skiing on the north 1/2, light west winds, partly cloudy. Audible collapsing in sheltered areas, shooting cracks on isolated slopes where the 3/22 MFcr was present, easy hand shears on south slopes below the 3/22 MFcr. H24 was bonding well on the north 1/2 where MFcr was absent; CtD down 35 RP. Besides our first run on a west aspect, we were searching out north slopes to avoid the 3/22 MFcr. We had skied north slopes on 3/22 in the same area and knew that they would not have a crust. We traveled cautiously but threaded the needle on an up track in order to avoid the forecasted avalanche problem.

Dry loose, Size 1, 10’x30’, west aspect, steep slope, 7000’, 3/24 AM, skier triggered, no one caught. Soft storm slab x3, size .5-1, 10’x10’, NE and E aspects, steep slopes, 8500’, 3/24 PM, skier triggered, no one caught.
