Quick report

Toured Mt. Fuji Sunday afternoon. Dug a pit near the summit and results were consistent with the forecast. Observed about 1 foot of unconsolidated snow, underlaid by a rain crust, a dense slab below the crust, and some near ground facets. No failure or propagation in our ECT. But after completing the test, used shovel to shear the column and with only a little force the entire slab easily slide on the weak layer near the ground. Snow was pretty good on Fuji, but seemed to be getting a bit warm by the afternoon. Still very bushy on the lower part but it was totally skiable.
