Observed shooting cracks on Lookout Ridge on a SE aspect at 6577’. The slope angle was 29° and this was observed at 15:42. In stability was observed in the upper 20-30cm and failed on supportable a melt/freeze crust. Unsure if this instability is widespread due to our limited terrain engagement, however, I do expect it to be present on recently wind-loaded slopes.
Snowpack
HS 87cm, lower snowpack was faceted but very moist covered by a stout Melt/Freeze layer with 20-30cm of recent snow composed of precip particles and fragmented particles.
